  1. Zounds™ Holiday Cheer Demo 
  2. (Additional Zounds Holiday Cheer sounds are available online in the Digital Eclipse forum or other libraries.)

  4. To install, remove the Zounds Control Panel and Zounds Files folder from the Place Contents in System Folder folder into your System folder.  Restart.

  6. This Zounds Holiday Cheer demo is free and can be copied (for non-commercial use) and given to friends.  It creates great holiday spirit and ambiance wherever it is played.  Enjoy and let us know what you think!

  16. Zounds plays sounds in the background while you use your computer.  It does not interfere with other computer programs and can be set to play often or only occasionally.

  18. Adding your own sounds to the Zounds Holiday Cheer demo is very, very easy.  To create your own Zounds’ sounds (using System 7) follow these steps:

  20. •    To record you own sounds, open your Sound Control Panel and click on “Add...”  Click on “Record” and speak into your microphone.  Click on Record again to stop recording.  Click on “Save” to save it.  This sound file will now be located in your System suitcase file which resides in your System folder.  Open your System suitcase file and you will find all of your sound files inside.  You can drag these files out and place them in the Holiday Cheer folder in the Zounds Files folder in your System Folder.

  22. Zounds will recognize any sound file that contains ‘snd ’ resources which includes System 7 sounds.

  24. The full version of Zounds comes with 11 user configurable sound modules including Country Stream, Romantic Italian, and Heavenly Harps.  Listen to the sound of the falling rain or the lapping waves of a tropical island while you work.

  42. • Zounds works on all Macintoshes with System 6.0.7 and higher.

  44. • Warning messages now appear in a separate dialog box instead of the text box in the lower right hand corner.

  46. • Zounds is incompatible with the Radius Rocket.

  48. • While Zounds is compatible with most accelerators, there may be a few that will not work properly if the volume control is set to less than 100%.

  50. • The volume control may not work on older machines such as the Mac Plus, Mac SE, Mac Classic, and original Mac LC. This simply means that all sounds will play at the normal System volume.
